Animation Short Drawing Blog

Please watch my current demo reel here if you would like to see how I animate currently. These are NOT REPRESENTING MY CURRENT ANIMATION SKILL SET.

Please remind that these clips below are only for sharing my history of studying animation; how I have learnt from scratch in the early period of my school days. Many of these animations are not enough to the current industry standard. However, these are still my precious gems made 'the present of me' so I can share online without any hesitation or embarrassment. Enjoy watching!

Fish Sandwich (Summer 2009)
Personal work
a tidbit of 2 people talking about a fish sandwich

Seung-hoo's Surprise (Spring 2008)
Pixar 3 Project / Supervised by Mark Walsh and Travis Hatherway
Eric Degner and I worked on this project using Chopin's 'Minute Waltz'. The concept of the project was to animate a short under the specific pace, rhythm, and timing which are already nailed by the music. Much like a Chuck Jones style. One interesting thing while this project was both teachers were working on the Pixar animated short "Presto" at the same time.
Karen & Jacob (Fall 2007)
Pixar 2 Class Assignment / Supervised by Adam Burke and Mike Wu
2-person dialogue test. Didn't have many critics from teachers because I coudn't even finish up my blocking until class wrap up.

I'm through! (Fall 2007)
Pixar 2 Class Assignment / Supervised by Adam Burke and Mike Wu
1-person dialogue test. 'She's having trouble' subtext was assigned to the dialogue.

Found it! (Fall 2007)
Pixar 2 Class Assignment / Supervised by Adam Burke and Mike Wu
Gear change exercise. 'Runner-Up' awarded in the 3D animation test category, 2008 Spring Show.

Cooking 101(Fall 2007)
Pixar 2 Class Assignment / Supervised by Adam Burke and Mike Wu
Fixing object exercise.

Catastrophe (Spring 2007)
Pixar 1 Class Assignment / Supervised by Bobby Podesta and Matt Majers
Another 'What's in the box' exercise with supervision of Bobby and Matt.

A Pirate (Fall 2006)
3D Character Animation Class Exercise
'What's in the box' exercise to show a character changing emotions.

Lonely Sacky (Fall 2006)
3D Character Animation Class Exercise
A flour sack exercise to emphasize characteristic behavior with a better-shaped character than a tailed ball.

Would you do me a favor? (Fall 2006)
3D Character Animation Class Exercise
A ball with a tail exercise to emphasize characteristic behavior with a simple-shaped character.

No, Kid! (Spring 2006)
The First Final Project in Maya Class
This historical animation is my first piece done by 3D software in my life ever! Have experienced no 3D software nor animation work before this class. I am responsible for everything such as concept, modeling, texture, rigging, animation, lighting, camera/layout, and rendering!
